The newest trick in spamming is to pay people to go to sites and post ads or links. The links will help them gain with the search engines . It seemed these people had an easier time getting into the site than people who wanted to use it. I tried several things, the first caused the form to crash and had to be rebuilt. I would edit out the ads every few days and then I started making it harder and harder to post anything on the site, until you had to be a montorator to be able to post. Now I would make anyone a montorator who would contact me, but this added a new step in posting and made almost unusable. Turning this time we have all these spammers joining the form so they can have a link from the membership area to the site they are being paid by to post. Now these people are thieves - I pay for my websites - this is why the only ads you may see are connected to the site. In most cases I am compensated for any sales that my arraise from these ads or in a few cases it's part of a link exchange program. There is a link form there site to mine and one from my site to there's. So when someone post ad without my permission they are stealing from me.
I've left the sites up until I could think of something better. I found it a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. It's called gather.com and I have set up a group there to take the place of the form. It will be harder for the spammers to get there and if they do much easier to remove them.
